SIGNIFICANT UPSURGE IN RETAIL TRANSACTIONS
After a quiet end to 2008, and a quiet start to 2009, Duncan & Bailey-Kennedy are pleased to report an increase in activity in the retail sector, and in particular in Marlow.
The end of 2008, leading into 2009 had seen a rise in the number of shops becoming vacant, and consequently being marketed. One press report put the number of vacant units close to 20.
Since Easter, however, we have let a number of these shops, leading to the current situation where there are very few vacant units and demand is once again outstripping supply.
A selection of the transactions that have been completed include the letting of 50 High Street to JoJo Maman Bebe, a well known and established maternity and infant-wear retailer. 54 High Street was let to Fenn Wright Manson, a female fashion retailer, 90 High Street was let to Bradley Fine Jewellery, with a Links of London and Pandora concession. 7 Market Square, a highly prominent unit within the town has now been let to Phase Eight.
In addition to these lettings, we have 4 units currently under offer and, once again, have retailers queuing up to be in such a quality market town as Marlow.
Watch this space for new arrivals in Marlow!
